How exactly did Human Design come about?

The Messenger: Ra Uru Hu
The origins of Human Design are as grounded—and as intense—as the system itself. It was brought to the world by Ra Uru Hu (born Robert Allan Krakower), a 5/1 Manifestor. Ra was not a "spiritual seeker" in the traditional sense; he was a cynical, sharp-witted Canadian advertising executive and filmmaker.
In 1987, on the island of Ibiza, he underwent a profound, eight-day deconstruction of his reality—an experience he described as an encounter with "The Voice." He emerged with a sophisticated, logical system that he spent the next 25 years testing and teaching, founding the International Human Design School (IHDS) in 1992 and still operating now, under Jovian Archive Media, a business company registered in Singapore . Ra’s approach was never about "blind faith." The system doesn’t ask for your "belief." In fact, Ra Uru Hu used to say, "Don’t believe me, try it for yourself. It is a self-verifying experiment." When you live according to your Strategy and Authority, the resistance in your life starts to drop away, and you begin to encounter what we call "The Signature Theme."
The Framework: Empirical Science vs. Quantum Research vs Divine Art
To understand why Human Design works, we have to look at the three pillars it stands on. One is rooted in what we can measure today vs ancient knowledge passed through generations; the other is at the frontier of what we are still learning about - the nature of the Universe.
1. The Established Science: Neutrinos and Genetics
The Neutrino Stream and Western Astrology : We live in a "subatomic soup." Neutrinos are tiny particles produced by stars (like our Sun) that carry a minute amount of mass. Trillions of them pass through every square inch of our bodies every second. Human Design posits that as these particles pass through the planets and then through us, they leave an "imprint" — a data exchange that shapes our energetic makeup.
The 64 Codons: With the 1:1 correlation between the 64 Hexagrams of the I Ching and the 64 codons of the human genetic code. Human Design uses this ancient binary system to “map how our DNA expresses itself in our behavior and energetical health ”- i.e. the 64 gate energies on the bodygraph correlating to the acient interpretations of the Chinese I Ching”.
2. The "Quantum-Research" Frontier: The Magnetic Monopole (yet-to-exist, physics is still searching for this hypothetical magnet, which only consist of a single pole)
Human Design suggests we are composed of two distinct "crystals"—a Design Crystal (the body/unconscious), formed 88 days prior to birth and a Personality Crystal (the mind/conscious) at birth. The framework introduces the concept of the Magnetic Monopole which is located in the G-center, near our sternums, to hold these 2 crystals together, thereby creating the concept of Passenger Consciousness - The Driver (us; personality ) VS the The Vehicle (the vessel, our body, design). The grand illusion that we are driving and directing our lives with our ability to think, whilst most of the wisdom actually sits and originates within our bodies.
3. The Divine Art
The system posits that humans shifted from the 7-chakra Vedic system to a 9 center mechanical and decision system (the human bodygraph) in the 1780s as the collective shifted from a purely survival only environment to one where we enjoyed expression and awareness. The 9 centered bodygraph also overlays on top of the inverted Kabbalah Tree of Life with 22 Paths structure, mapping out unique Human Design circuitry, or circuitries formed via the 36 Channels - where the 64 gates possibly connect the 9 centers to each other, creating various streams of awareness and energy themes.
